Innovation
Innovative Environmental Technology
Innovation here isn't a buzzword — it's a four-decade track record of bringing lower-cost, field-proven technology into real federal and Pacific programs. From in-situ bioremediation and low-thermal-desorption PCB removal to modified Fenton's chemistry, PFAS-relevant methods, and nanotechnology, the team has repeatedly delivered cleaner outcomes at lower cost — and earned national recognition for it.
Vice President's Hammer Award (1998)
Recognized for an in-situ Passive Oxygen Demand System — bioremediation of fuel-contaminated soil that saved the government more than $4 million.
U.S. EPA SITE program
Led an innovative-technology bioremediation project (former Aua Fuel Farm, American Samoa) recognized under EPA's Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation program.
$11M+ in taxpayer savings
As an innovative-technology advocate on a national U.S. Army Corps of Engineers committee, delivered projects that saved the government over $11 million.
Emerging & nanotechnology methods
Nanotechnology and eco-friendly methods that cut contamination, algae, and mold and improve wastewater — plus eco-friendly nano-concrete for construction and reefs, and a $1M EPA grant for an innovative Maui wastewater plant.
